Billy Carr is a proud Local 3 IBEW electrician.  For the last 22 years, he has helped build New York, literally.  Billy joined the race forNew York's 19th Assembly District because he knows first hand how working people have struggled, and he wants to ensure that the middle class is represented in Albany again.  We don't need any more lawyers in Albany; we need more working class, common sense folks like Billy to represent US.

Billy is deeply involved in his family and community.  Born and raised in the working-class community of Freeport, where family and friends are the focus of life, he is the proud father of four children who attend or have graduated from Mineola public schools, including an Eagle Scout.  Billy is married to his best friend, Cathy.

Village Trustee

Billy has served as a trustee on the Village of Williston Park board for the last six years where he has learned how to work as a team, whether as the liaison to the Library, Hometown Hero, Auxiliary Police or  the Zoning Board.  Billy also helped resolve a major water dispute with East Williston in 2016.

Billy has always given back to the children in the community as a coach and mentor.  He continues to coach CYO girls volleyball at Saint Aidans and in the local Little League and lacrosse leagues.

Proud Union Member

Billy entered IBEW Local 3 in 1996 and has spent his entire career as a Union electrician. He has risen through the ranks from an electrician to a General foreman where he is responsible for running major public work projects that employ dozens of his union brothers and sisters. While working, he graduated from the Harry Van Ardsdale School of labor study in 2001 with an associate’s degree.
